Finally!!

Aug 5th, I passed my final review.
Yeah!!! Finally I graduated!!!
No more thesis, no more school, and no more lab.
No more lab kinda makes me sad though.

Three years, I learned a lot but it just a little part of whole.
I am lucky to meet many good instructors and friends.
Thank you all very very much. ^___^

Thesis Update

Spring semester is over, and summer supose to be my last!?
Anyway, here's what I have now.

For demoreel stuff, a normal web page may be more suitable.
As a result, I created a very very simple website for demoreel.
Just a more polished version of those old shots there.

I am currently working on my first lipsync shots.
Well, not really the first, but the first one after I know a bit more.
Hopefully will have it uploaded soon.
And I hope I will have my website more designed in the future.

I got stuck at the planning stage for days.
It's not easy to create character for a character.
Background story, personality, emotion, thinking process...etc.
A lot of planning should be done before getting into Maya.

Thesis Update!!

Another new semester, and it's the 12th week.
It means it will end in 3 weeks!!! Time flies!!!

This semester I am doing half thesis and half demoreel.
Only the opening shots and last few shots are different.
The stop motion animations for the girls are in the opening shots.
Overall is still layout/rough blocking stage.
I will get to it soon.

One more semester passed

As I said, I am working on my thesis this semester.
Now is the end of this semester. (OMG!!)

I haven't finished all the layouts.
The progression is a bit messy. (>_<)
Some shots are getting into blocking,
while some are still very roughly layouts.

Though there are still a lot to fix.
Such as poses, timing, and even camera angle.
This the first breakdown of my thesis short.

As I said, I am doing my thesis recently.
This is the animatics I mad for midpoint review last fall.

As an graduate student at academy of art,
I have the responsibility to complete my thesis.
I have to model and rig my characters, then go into animation.
Modeling and rigging are sooooooooooo hard for me,
I am still struggling on rigging, though I am dying to animate.

I think a good animation is based on good modeling and rigging.
I must say to all modelers and riggers:
Thank you for making brilliant animatable models for animators. m(_ _)m
